Overhaul of APPLETON API 2C rated Telescopic Offshore Crane
The Appleton Telescopic Service Crane on board of a US Navy Supply Ship experienced hydraulic leakage from the luffing cylinder and from the telescopic boom cylinder. A team of ALATAS Specialists were sent on board to dismantle the telescopic boom and extract the telescopic cylinder, as well as to dismantle and remove the luffing cylinder from the crane.
Both cylinders where then air freighted to our specialized ALATAS Hydraulic Workshop in Singapore for a complete overhaul. Besides new cylinder seal sets, the cylinder barrels were honed and the cylinder rods re-chromed.
The repaired cylinders, along with new hydraulic hoses and fittings where air freighted back on board and re-installed by a ALATAS Riding Squad.
Besides the cylinder overhaul, the crane also was refurbished with a new main control valve, function tested and overload tested.
