A three year old yacht crane lifting height, was far to low for our clients new operational needs.
The original maker was bankrupt and no drawings of the crane were available.
Alatas in-house engineering and design department were called on to check the existing structure and obtained all the necessary data. (Dimensions, measurements, plate thickness
A feasibility study for two options were issued;
1. Extension of boom
2. Extension of base column
Both options included, design, calculations, new load charts and parts.
The client choose Alatas design option one
Alatas created a mathematical model and calculated possible new load charts, to meet the clients requirements
Alatas supplied a new longer lifting cylinder, boom extension and the accessories
The load moment limiting system, had to be re-programmed by our engineers
